Scope of Practices

BodyMaitre Rules And Regulations

We wish to highlight and emphasise to BodyMaitre workshop participants BodyMaitre’s rules and regulations pertaining to the use of the materials and techniques taught.

BodyMaitre workshop materials and techniques taught are strictly for self-use and self-healing purposes only.  To fully understand and derive the full benefits of BodyMaitre and the teaching of Archangel Metatron, attending a single module is not sufficient to enable you to identify and understand the bigger perspective of the healing of and through the four-body system.  For example, a physical symptom or pain can be caused by emotional and/or mental issues or simply caused by psychic attacks by others which is explained and covered in more than one module of BodyMaitre.

Attendance at any and all BodyMaitre workshops does not qualify workshop participants to be BodyMaitre Practitioners on a professional consultation basis or BodyMaitre Teachers in the use of BodyMaitre techniques and materials in any manner whatsoever.  The training and qualification of Practitioners and Teachers of BodyMaitre are subject to BodyMaitre’s Rules and Regulations on this subject matter.  Should you wish to become a BodyMaitre Practitioner or Body Maitre Teacher, please contact the founders of BodyMaitre for further information.

Licensing

Aromatherapy is not a licensed profession.
We offer two certificate options within the Aromatherapy Certification Program (ACP).

1. Essential Oil Specialist

When you complete the ACP and final exam, you receive a certificate of completion from Aromahead Institute. This certificate is approved by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). You can use the title “Essential Oil Specialist”

2. Certified Aromatherapist

The certification is approved by two national organizations, NAHA (National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy) and AIA (Alliance of International Aromatherapists).

When you complete the Certification requirements, you receive a certificate of completion from Aromahead Institute which qualifies you to state that you are a NAHA and AIA approved Certified Aromatherapist.

Complete the following certification requirements:

  • The Aromatherapy Certification Program
  • The Anatomy and Physiology class
  • Pass both the written and final exams
  • Receive approval for all of your 20 case studies
  • Receive approval for your 8-10 page research paper

Scope of Practice

When we speak of scope of practice, we refer to using Aromatherapy appropriately through the training you have received. Essential Oil Specialist and/or Certified Aromatherapists are not licensed to treat, prescribe or replace any medical treatment. When suggesting essential oils for people to use externally, it is simply a suggestion, based on your personal experience and learning.

Unless you are working under another health care license, you are not a licensed professional in medicine or Aromatherapy, and you are not qualified to diagnose or treat specific medical conditions. Suggesting the use of essential oils, based on your knowledge, is not medical treatment and must not be treated as such.

Although we know that essential oils are very powerful tools and often are used to replace medications, we cannot officially recommend that. We suggest you approach your oil suggestions and blends for people with the understanding that they are wonderful plant-based substances for supporting health and wellness. We also recommend you practice working only with conditions that you fully understand.

We discuss scope of practice and the FDA further in this lesson when we go over label guidelines.

Practicing Aromatherapy

Many graduates make blends and sell oils as a business. Personal and product liability insurance exists specifically for Aromatherapy. A variety of liability insurance options are offered in the Aromatherapy Resources. If you are currently a licensed health care professional, check with your liability carrier, as you may already be covered.

Aromahead Forum

We invite you to participate in the Aromahead forum. The link is in your main account page! (in the purple box on the right hand side) Please sign up and create an account in the Aromahead Student Forum and we will approve you as a forum member.

It is a wonderful place to share recipes and ideas and to ask questions as your learning. We have cultivated a very positive and supportive community on the forum, I can’t wait for you to join and get involved. Beth and Michelle, our forum instructors, are fabulous! They give each and every question their personal attention and offer tremendous insights that everyone can enjoy.

On the forum we request your question and comment respect the context of what we teach at Aromahead Institute: topical use, inhalation and diffusion. Since we don’t teach internal use or use of essential oils on animals, we don’t cover that information on the forum. Please visit the forum and check out the forum guidelines and FAQ!
